claybyona
01What
claybyona is the shop and portfolio of Ona, a one-person stoneware studio in Girona. Visitors browse one-off pieces in a hand-drawn, paper-and-ink world, and Ona lists, edits and marks pieces sold from her own studio dashboard.
02Why
Every piece is one of a kind, so a basket and checkout made little sense; a sale is a conversation. Ona also needed to run the site alone, without a code change every time she made something new.
03How
Public pages are Next.js Server Components that read straight from Firestore, and a password-protected studio saves through Server Actions, with photos uploaded to Firebase Storage. We shaped the wobbly look together, and I built it as about 20 hand-drawn SVG components with seeded randomness and pure CSS animation. Each piece page ends in “contact to buy” instead of add to basket.
