woodpushr
01What
woodpushr is a chess coach that runs in the browser. You play, or import your games from chess.com and Lichess, and it turns your own mistakes into puzzles and drills your openings until they stick.
02Why
Good game review sits behind a paywall on the big chess sites. I wanted strong analysis that is free because it runs on the player's own device, and practice built from the games they actually play.
03How
Stockfish 18, compiled to WebAssembly, grades every move in Web Workers, so a game's analysis costs nothing to serve. Each blunder becomes a personal puzzle, and the opening trainer covers 25 repertoires with spaced repetition (10 minutes up to 35 days) that flags where your real games leave the book. I ran the build as an orchestrator directing parallel Claude agents in separate git worktrees: 440 commits in about ten weeks.
